We were planning to do our own touring in this region, but didn't fancy driving those long distances. Loved climbing up to Cape Palliser Lighthouse followed by fish and chips at Lake Ferry. Peter was engineer in the merchant navy and was thrilled with story of the fell engine at Featherston. I think if we left him he'd still be there. The guide, accommodation and meals were all excellent and the tour was excellent value overall.

Thoroughly enjoyed everything about the tour and its easy pace. It is difficult to choose a favourite as they were many and varied, but I particularly liked the garden visits where we had lunch provided by our hosts. Really enjoyed Stonehenge Aotearoa, Cape Palliser and visiting the small towns in the Wairarapa where I had never been before. It was nice to have the three day stay at Brackenridge where our cottage was superb. Our travelling companions were an interesting, friendly group and it was lovely to have our guide Chris look after us and get us safely around the country. He was very pleasant, friendly and helpful - all the things a good guide should be. Any problems, he sorted them out. Thank you Chris! I would certainly recommend Moa Tours.

Christmas in Northland

My favourite activities were the trip to the Hole in the Rock, lunch at the Duke of Marlborough, Cape Reinga on Christmas Day, lunch in Whangarei and the visit to Waitangi. Our guide Sean was a very helpful young man with plenty of local knowledge, he did his very best to accommodate any requests we had and went out of his way at times. Also a very safe and capable driver.

All three hotels were very comfortable, especially the beds. The waterfront rooms were a real treat and access to rooms was easy. The lunches were excellent and in well chosen places. A very comfortable coach with good air conditioning and easy access for getting in and out.made the trip all the more pleasant. No worries about anything. Food and loo stops were provided for us and apart from drinks in the evening money was rarely needed.

This was my first MoaTour and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Our guide made sure we were well looked after and made a real effort to get to know us all. Hotels were in wonderful waterfront positions and we met some interesting people in the group.

Christmas in Northland

I am a devoted fan of MoaTours! The company and its personnel give excellent value for money and this particular Xmas trip was really enjoyable probably because I knew a few of the travellers from previous trips but the sights we saw and participated in were first class. Our guide Sean was unfailingly polite, helpful and good humoured.

My favourite thing about travelling with MoaTours is not having to think! I particulaly enjoyed and appreciated going to Cape Reinga, the tour around Pompallier House was excellent, ditto Waitangi and the bird sanctuary at Whangarei. As I opted not to do the "Hole in the Rock" I loved having the day in Russell to wander around and enjoy it. The Matakohe Museum is always so interesting - a real winner, together with the gannets at Muriwai.

Christmas in Marlborough

I enjoyed the smaller group tour so would do another one. Good to go with a friend and share experiences. I enjoyed seeing a part of NZ I had never been to and going on a tour was very good value. It was wonderful to get picked up and brought home without having to worry. Our guide Richard was extremely courteous and considerate of all passengers. His thoughtfulness on Christmas Day while we were travelling to Picton for lunch was exceptional - I mean to say who expected delectable cherries and mince pies to be passed around the bus.

Queenstown New Years Eve

My favourite activities were the Jet Boat ride in Te Anau, cruising Milford Sound on the tender, I also had time in Te Anau to have a foot and leg massage at the hotel. Loved Distinction Te Anau with a ground floor room overlooking the lake, best service from the staff, could have stayed another night to make full use of their massage treatments. Thank you for providing transport to and from Millbrook Resort after our flight was cancelled. We enjoyed our trip with a friendly bunch of people, who all got on well together, with no moans or groans.

Christmas in Marlborough - Lochmara Lodge Cruise
Christmas in Marlborough

Without doubt this was the most memorable Christmas tour I've ever experienced - my fellow travellers were friendly and fun, the organization was like a well oiled machine and the tour guide contributed to and was part of a cohesive group. Attention to detail was excellent, from the pickup at the start right through to the finish. Christmas lunch was wonderful - inspired planning in a lovely homely situation with character hosts. The guide was a joy and never stuck for a comment or answer.

Thank you to all involved for a memorable Christmas.

This was a most enjoyable trip with a very pleasant group of fellow travellers. Our guide Andre was such a pleasant young man. I was very impressed by the way he managed to adapt our tour when weather conditions forced changes. Nothing was too much trouble and he maintained his good humour throughout. The meals on the tour were excellent, Fleur's was, of course, a highlight but we enjoyed some very good meals at the various restaurants and gardens. Our hotel in Queenstown, the Novotel on the waterfront was an unexpected bonus. My favourite activities were meeting the garden owners who were welcoming and informative and the visit to the garden and distillery at Lammermoor Station was impressive.

Country Roads and Cross Hills Gardens Fair

Thank you, it was a real pleasure to rediscover how much I enjoy the tours. Right from the cheerful pick up at my door, my friends and I felt well looked after. Our guide Chris was excellent, great driver, good-humoured company and the right mix of courtesy and friendliness. He was always alert to any of our mixed group who might need help and giving it willingly. He had also done the research and kept us well informed along the way. So I warmly recommend both the Country Roads & Cross Hills Fair tour and our driver Chris.

I haven't travelled much recently so didn't know what to expect but our guide Matt was amazing, I loved the variety of meals and the places we ate at and the accommodation was really good. I loved the variety. My favourite place was Erewhon Station & the Clydesdales and the history of all the places we visited. Matt's knowledge of the history of all the areas was great.

The friendly team at MoaTours would love to chat
